Travel with ease from Koh Samui to Phuket, Thailand’s most popular beach destination, through Samuipedia’s professionally organised budget transfer services.
There are several services a day from Koh Samui to Phuket, which take approximately 8 hours island to island. The journey from Koh Samui starts with a mini bus transfer 1 hour before departure time from your hotel to the new bus terminal in Nathon, on the west side of the island. There you will board the bus service to Surat Thani. Both standard and VIP services are available, the difference being VIP offers more leg room, more comfortable reclining seating, on board toilet and light snacks. All buses are air conditioned.
On departure from Nathon bus terminal, you will take the short trip to the car ferry where you and the coach will board the ferry separately for the 90 minute journey to the port town of Donsak. On arrival you will disembark the ferry and meet back up with the bus, which will continue to Surat Thani city bus station about 80 minutes away.
In Surat Thani you will have around a half an hour wait before catching the next bus to Phuket, which is enough time to grab some food for the remainder of the journey. There are buses to 2 destinations in Phuket: Phuket Bus Station and Patong. You will need to get the bus that goes to your preferred destination. The bus destinations are clearly visible and English speaking bus attendants will be at hand to help direct you.
