1st class sleeper carriages are the most comfortable with air conditioning and secure 2 berth sleeping compartments. Each compartment has a wash basin, soap and towels, and fresh bedding is supplied and made up by the train attendant for each berth. Each carriage features a restroom & cold water shower for freshening up. Passengers traveling solo must share with others passengers of the same sex unless they pay an additional 500 THB for single occupancy.

2nd class sleepers are arranged dormitory style with the upper berths 100 THB cheaper than the lower but a bit narrower. You can choose from carriages that are either air conditioned or not (200 THB cheaper) depending on your choice. Lower berths turn into normal seating during the day with the upper berths folding away against the carriage wall. A train attendant will make up your bed with fresh linen and hook up curtains for privacy. The security of luggage isn’t much of an issue but we always advise locking your bags as a deterrent.
